An introduction to the role of medicine and "the good medic culture." A look at the common injuries in American football. How to apply first aid to head-neck injuries. Concussion protocol and how to identify players with concussions.  Communication with coaches. Being hurt vs. being injured. How to apply first aid to other acute injuries such as: joints, ankles, hand, fingers, legs, etc.

The aim of the course is to provide the student with skills to assess the extent of an acute injury and how to provide immediate first aid.
